I’ve tried making muffins in the past but have always been slightly disappointed with them. Not because they didn’t taste good, but because they don’t *look* right. A proper muffin to me should have a defined ‘muffin top’ and in the case of a chocolate muffin, should have a slightly gooey centre. I’ve been chasing that dream for a while now and I think I finally found it.

Despite my better judgment, I got my elder millennial self onto TikTok, which when carefully curated has actually been a goldmine for food inspiration. I came across Beth, who has made it her business to make what looked to me like perfect muffins, so I gave her chocolate muffin recipe a try.
