This is an extremely comprehensive and detailed book with countless recipes that must have taken years to research. Everything I’ve made from this book has been incredible; with particular mention to the rundstykker danish morning rolls which were the best bread item I’ve made and the traditional swedish St Lucia buns which are flavoured with saffron.

Written by the owner of bakery in London. everything I have made from this book has been pure gold. The OG caramel cornflake brownie recipe, which has been copied across the country since. Would also recommend the apple crumble cookies, toffee apple cheesecake & banana blondies.


Melt (Ginger’s Comfort Emporium)

Ginger’s Comfort Emporium is a Manchester staple. They have a cafe in Afflecks Palace and an ice cream van that pops up regularly at markets across the city. I pop in regularly and have made a few recipes from their excellent book. Their peanut butter & salted caramel ice cream (locally known as Chorlton Crack) and marmalade on toast ice cream are especially recommended.
